My parents - in - law were persuaded to purchase an easy access shower system from Dolphin at a cost of £5,000. The work is at best described as botched and at worst ......... judge for yourself. The 'contracted' installer was useless, he managed to put in a new water pipe, tile over it then drill into the pipe it causing a flood not only in my inlaws bathroom but in the bathroom down stairs causing major damage. When the 'supervisors' attended to look at the situation - it was discovered the contractor had not even sealed in the unit either, leaving saying the job was done and safe. My husband advised his parents not to pay the final £500+ and wrote to Dolphin that he had done this. He told Dolphin not to bother his elderly and unwell parents but to deal with him....as yet only a single acknowledgement has been received, but the original instructions in his letter were ignored. The company have dragged their feet over the neighbours claim for damages caused by their worker and AS YET IT REMAINS UNRESOLVED. This has been going on for weeks..... the FINAL cheek has been that Dolphin wrote last week to my inlaws 'demanding' the final payment.
WOULD YOU PAY £5,000 FOR THIS indeed my pictures do not tell the whole story - it is so much worse, the original bathroom in terms of size is small. Yes there was a limited amount of tiling done, but my elderly parents-in-law, instead of waiting for their son and grandson to assist, painted the room themselves. I am sorry BUT if you are paying £5,000 for any work there has to be a competent installation with a professional finish. Dolphin have proved themselves as falling short.
MY ADVICE SHOP AROUND, LOOK AT EXAMPLES OF THE WORK DONE PREVIOUSLY, TAKE RECOMMENDATION AND DON'T BE CHATTED UP BY SALES PEOPLE FROM 'NATIONALLY RENOWNED' COMPANIES.
